Steam Engine Inspection day
Registration is not Required
Payment In Full In Advance Only
You must arrive with your engine early enough to complete your self testing by 1 pm if at all possible.
First if your steam engine has never been certified by the State of Washington, please contact Ken Olsen. You will need to make an appointment with the inspector and this needs to be done during a week day (Monday through Friday). Ken has this information. More information is on the website under "Boiler Info" tab.

If your boiler has already been certified by the State of Washington, please bring a copy of the state boiler number with you. We will need this number to put on the self test form.

If you are unable to make it to the track on this date, again, please contact me  as he can set it up for you to do it at a mutually convenient place and time.

Please click on the following link to open the new Steam Engine Self testing form. We no longer subject your steamer to a boiler hydro test as in the past, but what we do is to check the safety devices on your engine.

Note that the we will be available to witness the testing starting at 8 am and hope to be done by 1 pm.

Note that once you have passed this check, you will be given a wallet card that is accepted at other model railroad clubs and organizations that will allow you to run your steamer at Kitsap Live Steamers and many other tracks. Examples are Train Mountain, Burnaby, BC, etc.

Again, contact  Ken Olsen if you have any questions.
